In 2004, nearly $22,000 was donated from the GSLC Benevolence Fund in support of the following local and international activities/efforts:
- Lutheran Family and Children's Services who aid families, children and individuals with information on adoption, counseling, education and resources to assist with physical and emotional needs.
- Metro St. Louis Coalition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The ELCA consists of more than five million people in over 10,000 congregations. In Metro St. Louis, Missouri we have congregations in urban areas, inner-ring suburbs and outlying suburban areas. This is one of few such coalitions in the United States. It has been found to be an effective way to combine our efforts in working together as one to proclaim and share God's love for all.
- The ELCA Disaster Response All contributions received by ELCA International Disaster Response will be directed 100% to relief efforts in South Asia. More than $7.5 million has been raised so far.
- provide needed items for the Thanksgiving Basket donations made to local families in need of a Thanksgiving meal.
- Lutheran Campus Ministry an ELCA presence at more than 140 state and private colleges and universities, with partner congregations at an additional 600 campuses.
- The ELCA World Hunger Appeal. IncomeELCA World Hunger Appeal provides direct relief for people in need worldwide; provides the means for long-term, sustainable development in communities; advocates for justice; and educates members of the church about issues related to hunger, poverty and justice.
- The ELCA Special Needs Retirement Fund provides additional income to retired pastors, rostered laypersons and surviving spouses whose salaries during working years were so low that they have inadequate income to meet their daily needs.
- The St. Louis Area Foodbank, a non-profit food distribution center that feeds hungry people in both eastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois.
- The Central States Synod ELCA The Central States Synod is committed to God's mission in the world and will in partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America make use of its resources to Proclaim the Good News of God's Saving Grace, reach out to all people to bring them to faith in Christ, equip women and men for leadership in both the church and community, serve our neighbor in response to their human need for wholeness in mind, body and spirit, emphasize the Priesthood of all Believers and their Call to Ministry in Daily Life, nurture all members, young and old, as they respond to their Call to Discipleship, claim our responsibilities as Stewards of Creation, encourage the development and strengthening of our partnership in mission and ministry with our Full Communion Partners in the Gospel.

- The Contact and Resource Center, an ELCA library and information center.
- The Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Estes Park, Colorado.
- The Heat-Up St. Louis campaign a regional, independent, non-utility energy assistance and advocacy charity covering 17 Missouri and Illinois counties and the City of St. Louis.
- from or the Emmaus House in St. Charles, Missouri. The Emmaus House is a home dedicated to creating an independent living environment for adults with special needs.
- Bethesda Lutheran Home Services Inc.
- The Lutheran Association for Special Education, St. Louis chapter. This money will help further the education costs of those in need.
- The Circle of Concern to cover the cost of the purchase of fresh meat to supply their food pantry. Circle of Concern is a local food pantry located in Valley Park Missouri.
- Our Lady's Inn, an organization that helps unwed pregnant women.
- Women in Transition, an organization for women who are being released from prison (on non-violent charges) that assists them in making the transition back into their world.
- ALIVE, (Alternatives to Living In a Violent Environment) a local shelter for battered and abused women.
- The Women's Safe House, a local shelter for battered women and their children.
- The DeSoto Food Pantry. The DeSoto food pantry provides food supplies to needy people in the DeSoto, Missouri area.
- Faith Lutheran Church, a Lutheran church dedicated to reaching and equipping people to think and act like Jesus.
- Oaks Indian Center witnesses to the gospel of Jesus Christ in the heart of the Cherokee Nation, providing children in need with spiritual, emotional, physical and educational care in a community setting.
- Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide.
- Feed My People, a rehabilitative help center. In addition to dispensing food supplies, they offer job counseling, budget guidance and other instructive services designed to assist clients in their quest to get back on their feet.
- Worth Industries, Inc of St. Louis, Missouri. Worth Industries, Inc. is a member of the Missouri Association of Sheltered Workshop Managers includes more than 90 member workshops throughout the state. The MASWM provides dignified and meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities...and quality products and services throughout Missouri and around the world.

- The Rainbow Network, a non-profit organization working to provide food, safe drinking water and medical care for the people of Nicaragua.
- Food for the Poor Inc. ministers to spiritually renew impoverished people throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Established in 1982, their goals are to improve the health, economic, social and spiritual conditions of the men, women and children they serve.
- Lutheran World Relief an organization that works with partners in 50 countries to help people grow food, improve health, strengthen communities, end conflict and build livelihoods.
- Youth Encounter which is an evangelical and confessional Christian organization that began by sending a music ministry team to Scandinavia. Rooted in the Christian Scriptures and shaped by the Lutheran tradition, Youth Encounter has now grown into a global ministry serving churches of many denominations in the United States and over 40 other countries.
- The Panama Mission through our donation to Faith Lutheran in Jefferson City.
- Manchester, Missouri's Shop with a Cop program is run by police officers who volunteer their time to raise money and take underprivileged children Christmas shopping for their families and themselves.
- The Lutheran Ministries Association whose goal is to share the Gospel with confined people and their families through pastoral care, advocacy, and assistance.
- Faith Lutheran Church, a Lutheran church dedicated to reaching and equipping people to think and act like Jesus.
- Feed My People, a non-profit food distribution center that feeds hungry people in both eastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois.
- The Sunshine Ministries. Since 1903, Sunshine Ministries has been committed to providing high-quality, Christian social services to the poor and needy of St. Louis by offering healingpast, help for the present and hope for the future.
- The ELCA Global Mission Support. For more than 160 years, LutheransUnited States have been sending missionaries around the world. Today, missionaries continue to be an important part of the church's global mission. Missionary Sponsorship through the ELCA is one of the ways to support these missions.
- Project Backpack through donations and financial contributions, Project Backpack hopes to fill 150 backpacks with the necessary school supplies for students in need, grades K-12th to begin school.
- The Moscow Soup Kitchen in care of the Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America, DGM, in Chicago, Illinois.
- Room at the Inn, a 30-day emergency shelter for women and families who find themselves without a place to live.
- The Guardian Angel Settlement exists to assist, educate, empower those in need in our community through appropriate programs and services so that they might experience an enhanced quality of life and achieve the highest level of self-determination.
- Project Peanut Butter. Children who seek help through Project Peanut Butter received a fortified peanut butter that contains peanut paste, dried skimmed milk, sugar, oil, vitamins, and minerals.
- The American Rehabilitation Ministries in Joplin, Missouri. ARM Prison Outreach is an arm of the church to help fulfill the biblical mandate of Jesus, "I was in prison and you came to visit me," Matt 25:36, NIV. Their specialized programs are designed to proclaim the love and message of Jesus to the incarcerated help lead them into a saving and personal relationship with the Savior, build them up in the faith, and equip them for a lifetime of faithful service in the Lord's Kingdom.
- The Salvation Army Tree of Lights Campaign. The 2001 effort marked the 54th anniversary of the Tree of Lights in St. Louis. The successful campaign brought in more than $4.8 million, which goes to support local programming throughout the year. All donations stay in St. Louis, and more than 87 cents of every dollar goes directly to programs and services.
- St. Louis Crisis Nursery in Missouri provides a safe haven for children facing child abuse or kids who have family in crisis.
- Mid-East Area Agency on Aging has provided programs and services for older adults since its incorporation in 1973 as a not-for-profit agency. MEAAA programs and services are available for anyone age 60 and older who lives in the counties of St. Louis, Franklin, Jefferson and St. Charles.
- Room at the Inn, a 30-day emergency shelter for women and families who find themselves without a place to live.
- The Friends of Indonesia in care of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana.
- The Campus Crusade a worldwide, interdenominational Christian ministry committed to showing people how they can know and experience God's plan for their lives.
- Faith Place in St. Louis for the purchase of books for their library. Faith Place is the first new Lutheran worshipping community in the city of St. Louis in over 50 years. They currently serve over 150 children.
- Joni and Friends exists to communicate the gospel and equip Christ-honoring churches worldwide to evangelize and disciple people affected by disabilities.
- Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the largest mentoring organization in the United States, volunteers provide support and advice to youth.
