Vocal Music

Faith Choir

  • Adult Choir (9th Grade and up)
  • Meets weekly on Thursdays from 7:00 - 8:30 pm (September - June)
  • Sings primarily SATB music
  • Participates in worship almost every weekend and at most special services (Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, etc…)

Men's Choir

  • Adult Tenor and Bass Voices (9th Grade and up)
  • Meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 8:15 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Participates in worship once per month at various services

Ladies' Of The Lord Singers (LOL)

  • Meets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from 4:30 - 5:30 pm
  • Sings 1-2 times per month at any of the services
  • Open to ladies 6th grade and up
  • Great group for moms and daughters

Summer Choir

  • Meets on Thursdays from 7:30 - 8:30 during July & August
  • Practices a new song each week to sing at one of the weekend worship services
  • 6th grade singers and up are welcome to participate
  • Great group for families who like to sing together, new members, former choir members, anyone who likes to sing but can't commit to regular rehearsals
  • Come as often or as little as you like through the summer

PREP Singers (Primary Religious Education Program/Youth Club) 

  • Children in 2nd - 5th Grade
  • Meets on Wednesdays from 6:45 - 7:30 pm for 8 weeks in the fall and 8 weeks in the spring when PREP is in session (not required to participate in entire youth club program to participate in choir experience)
  • Unison / Two-part music and praise songs
  • Participates in worship 4 times per year at 8:00 and 11:00 services

Special Children's Choirs

  • Children of all ages are often invited to participate in special services like Christmas Eve Family Worship , Hymn Fests, Concerts, Special Events
  • If your child likes to sing - watch for more information in your monthly church newsletter, the weekend announcements, sunday school and youth club notes sent home and on this website

Cantors/Song Leaders 

  • Chant the liturgy at the 9:30 (occasionally at 8:00) service as needed
  • Lead congregational singing when a choir is not in attendance
  • Contact Director of Music Ministry jdegeer@gslcelca.org to schedule an audition

Contemporary Worship Team Singer/Leader

  • Adults (usually 9th grade and up)
  • Lead and encourage congregational singing at 11:00 worship
  • All voice parts welcome
  • Rehearse & Lead once per month as scheduled (rehearsals are on Wednesday at 8:00 pm, Saturday at 9:00 am or Saturday at 10:00 am)

Soloists, Duets, etc...

  • All ages welcome
  • To provide special music at one of the worship services as needed (especially during summer months)
  • There are accompanists available to assist you as needed

Small Groups/Ensembles

  • Groups of 6 - 12 singers
  • Rehearsals arranged
  • All Voice parts welcome to participate
  • You can arrange a group on your own or sign up to be placed in a group
  • Continuing opportunities throughout the year … especially during summer months
