Sunday School Registration Form
The goal of GSLC's Sunday School program is to nurture our children to follow Christ, grow their faith and share God's love.
Good Shepherd's Sunday School is held from 9:30 - 10:40 a.m. on Sunday mornings during the school year. Sunday School is open to all children age 2 through grade 12.
***Join us for Family Fellowship Sundays, the 3rd Sunday of every month! Connect with other families after Sunday School and enjoy some coffee and donuts on the lower level, outside the Sun. school office from 10:30-11:00 a.m.
Where do we take our kids for Sunday School?
Directional signs are also posted throughout the building listing classroom locations.
We use a lectionary based Sunday School Curriculum, called SPARK, for children ages 2 through 5th grade. The Bible stories the children learn in Sunday School are the same as those read during Worship that day. We hope this helps families talk about faith and grow in faith together as parents and children learn the same Bible stories each week.
We also celebrate several Faith Milestones in our children's lives. A few of these, besides baptism and confirmation, include:
Little Lambs Bibles - To support parents in fulfilling the promises we make at baptism, "to place in their hands the Holy Scriptures," we present a PreSchooler's Story Bible during the fall to each new two-year-old in our Sunday School Program.
3rd Grade Bibles - A 3-week Bible overview class, which parents attend with their children, is offered each February. After the study, Good News Bibles (which are provided by the church) are presented to students by their parents during worship.
Special Children's Worship Services:
All children are always invited and encouraged to take part in our worship services. A few times a year our Sunday School children help to plan and lead the worship services. In addition to the Christmas Program, each class will have at least two opportunities to help lead worship during the 9:30 service. The Christmas Program is usually a pageant, play or service of lessons and carols in which all children are welcome to participate. Our Sunday School classes help in leading worship services by greeting, reading, ushering, and singing during worship.
