What do we mean when we talk about the Holy Spirit moving today? In this Pentecost message, we wrestle honestly with questions many Christians carry: Does the Holy Spirit still come today? Why do some experiences of God seem dramatic while others are quiet and subtle? Drawing from Acts 2, John 20, and 1 Corinthians 12, Pastor Josh explores why Jesus sends the Holy Spirit, what gifts the Spirit brings, and who the Spirit comes to.
The Holy Spirit is not given for personal success, power, or comfort, but to carry on the ministry of Jesus, offer forgiveness, and build up the common good. The Spirit comes to all people, works in many different ways, and continues to move in the church today. The invitation of Pentecost is to become more open, attentive, prayerful, patient, and mobile so we can better recognize and participate in what God is already doing in the world.
