In this week’s sermon, we hear the good news that Jesus does not come for people who have it all together. He comes for the weary, the wounded, the broken, and the ones who feel like they have nothing left to offer.
Drawing from Hosea, Matthew, and Romans, this message explores God’s desire for mercy rather than sacrifice. Faith is not about keeping a perfect spiritual scorecard or proving our worth to God. It is about bringing our honest need to Jesus, who enters our isolation, touches our wounds, and brings life to the places that feel dead.
Like the Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, Jesus meets us in our brokenness and restores us with mercy. We do not have to hide our cracks or pretend to be whole. We can place our grief, exhaustion, failure, and fear at the feet of Christ—and trust the One who loves us back to life.
